The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic is delivered by Northside Health NT and funded by the Australian Government to provide specialised care for pelvic pain and endometriosis until 2026.
This funding supports a new model of care that aims to reduce delays in diagnosis, improve access to evidence-based treatment, and bring different clinicians together in one place. Rather than seeing separate providers in different locations, patients can receive coordinated care through one clinic.
Our clinic uses a multidisciplinary, person-centred approach. This means your medical care, pelvic health physiotherapy, psychological support and lifestyle advice are planned together, with your goals placed at the core.
We see girls, women, and people who were assigned female at birth who experience pelvic pain and/or endometriosis. For eligible patients, services are provided at no or low cost.
This education program is one part of our care model. It is designed to support your understanding, help you feel prepared, and make the most of your time with us.
Pelvic pain is complex and often has more than one cause. Our clinic brings together different types of clinicians who each focus on part of the picture and then work as a team.
Our approach is:
Multidisciplinary – medical care, pelvic health physiotherapy, psychology and dietetic support are available within one clinic
Person centred – your goals, values and preferences guide the treatment plan
Education focused – we provide clear information so you understand your condition and the options available
Longterm – we review your progress and adjust the plan over time rather than relying on a single appointment
You are asked to complete this online education program before your first visit so you arrive with a clear overview of pelvic pain and possible treatments. This helps us use your clinic time to focus on what matters most to you and to build a plan that feels realistic and achievable in your daily life.
Our clinic is supported by a multidisciplinary team who work together to support you. Each clinician has a different role, but we share the same goal: to help you understand your condition, reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
You may meet some or all of the following team members.
Dr Phillipa Wilson
Dr Jane Karmouche
Dr Evelyne Cheng
Dr Annie Wells
Dr Sarah Bowyer
Our doctors assess your symptoms, review past tests and diagnoses, and discuss medical treatment options. These may include hormone based therapies, pain medicines and other prescriptions that may support your pelvic pain and general health. They can also coordinate referrals to other members of the team, as well as to gynaecologists or other specialists if required.
Ashlee Dodd
Amelia Godfrey
Our pelvic health physiotherapists focus on your pelvic floor muscles, posture, breathing and movement. They help with issues such as muscle tension, bladder or bowel symptoms and pain with sex. Sessions may include education, assessment (internal or external, if you are comfortable) and a home program tailored to your needs.
Melissa Harding
Living with ongoing pain can affect mood, sleep, relationships and daily life. Melissa provides a safe and supportive space to talk about the impact of pain. She uses evidence based strategies to help with anxiety, low mood, trauma, pain coping and nervous system regulation.
Lauren Carmichael
Lauren supports people who experience bowel symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhoea or IBS, as well as fatigue and flare ups that are affected by food. She works with you to find realistic, sustainable changes to eating patterns that fit your symptoms, preferences and lifestyle.
The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic is designed for people who are living with ongoing pelvic pain and related conditions.
